GSTN Resolves Technical Issue, QRMP Taxpayers can now file Refund
In a welcome move for many small businesses, the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has resolved a critical technical issue on the GST portal that was preventing taxpayers under the Quarterly Return Monthly Payment (QRMP) scheme from filing for refunds. These taxpayers, who file their GSTR-3B returns quarterly, were encountering a persistent validation error when trying to submit their refund applications in Form RFD-01 for excess tax paid. This glitch had caused considerable frustration and financial strain by blocking access to legitimate refunds. The GSTN has now announced that the technical error has been fixed. As a result, QRMP taxpayers can now successfully file their refund applications without any system-related impediments. This resolution is vital for ensuring the smooth functioning of the compliance system and for maintaining the liquidity of small and medium enterprises.
