Haryana State Commission Holds Mahindra And Mahindra Liable For Failure To Rectify Manufacturing Defects In Brand New TUV
The State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Haryana, dismissed Mahindra and Mahindra's appeal against the Sonepat District Commission's order, noting significant manufacturing defects in the car. The complainant faced persistent issues with the Mahindra TUV Black car's performance despite multiple service visits. \r
Problems included race, pick-up, alternator, and subsequent engine issues leading to overheating and abnormal noises. Mahindra argued normal wear and tear, citing the vehicle's high mileage. However, the State Commission found the argument unsubstantiated, emphasizing the prolonged inoperability and recurrent issues shortly after purchase. \r
Consequently, it upheld the District Commission's directive for Mahindra to replace the faulty vehicle with a new one, dismissing the appeal.
