HDFC Life Insurance Company rose 3.94% to Rs 594.95 following its endorsement of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI)'s progressive reforms in its master circular on life insurance products. \r
The IRDAI reforms, to be implemented by September 30, 2024, aim to enhance policyholder empowerment through simplified customer information sheets, training programs, mandatory policy loans, variable annuities, extended free look periods, robust grievance processes, and higher surrender values. \r
HDFC Life expects a 100 bps impact on its New Business Margin due to higher surrender values but is confident in mitigating this while ensuring long-term customer value. The company’s Q4 FY24 standalone net profit increased 14.77% to Rs 411.66 crore on a 5.46% rise in net premium income.
