Supreme Court ruling cautioning High Courts and appellate courts against routinely remanding cases back to trial courts when the appellate forum is already in a position to decide the matter on merits. The Court observed that unnecessary remands cause avoidable delays, increase litigation costs, and prolong uncertainty for litigants. It stressed that appellate courts should exercise their full powers to finally adjudicate disputes wherever possible, instead of mechanically sending matters back. The ruling aims to reduce case pendency and improve the efficiency of the justice delivery system.
