On July 2, 2024, the Delhi and Punjab & Haryana High Courts interpreted the new Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Samhita (BNSS) for the first time. Delhi HC used Section 531 of the BNSS to rule that the old CrPC procedures applied to a trademark dispute involving KG Marketing, while Punjab & Haryana HC, citing Section 6 of the General Clauses Act, applied CrPC to a revision petition due to pre-BNSS actions.
