ICAI to Conduct CA Women Leadership Conclave on 29th June amid International CA Conference Incident of removing Women Students from Front Rows

The Women Members Excellence Committee (WMEC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) plans to host a "CA Women Leadership Conclave" on June 29th. This initiative comes in the wake of controversy surrounding the removal of women students from front rows at an international event due to a demand by Swami Gyanvatsalya of BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir. Despite ICAI's President highlighting the growing presence of women in the profession, female attendees were relocated upon the Swami's insistence, sparking widespread criticism. The incident underscores a stark contrast between the event's themes of female empowerment and the actual treatment of women at the conference. The upcoming conclave aims to address professional opportunities, leadership, technology, work-life balance, and will relaunch the Women Portal for flexible work arrangements. It will take place at Hotel Sahara Star, Mumbai, under the theme "Falcon" with the slogan "Brave Boundless Beyond."
