India Home to Nearly 2 Lakh DPIIT-Recognised Startups

As of late 2025, India boasts nearly 200,000 startups officially recognised by DPIIT (Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade), underlining the scale and breadth of the country’s new-economy ecosystem. This milestone emphasises India's shift toward tech-driven entrepreneurship, diversity of sectors (from e-commerce to fintech to deep-tech), and the growing role of startups in job creation, innovation, and economic growth.
