India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Imports of Vitamin-A Palmitate from China, EU, and Switzerland
India has imposed anti-dumping duties on imports of Vitamin-A Palmitate from China, the European Union, and Switzerland for a period of five years. This decision comes after an investigation by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) found that the product was being dumped into the Indian market, causing material injury to the domestic industry. Vitamin-A Palmitate is used in the pharmaceutical and food fortification industries. The anti-dumping duties range from $0.87 to $20.87 per kilogram, depending on the producer and country of origin. This measure aims to counteract the unfair trade practices and provide a level playing field for domestic manufacturers. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) issued the notification for the immediate implementation of these duties. This action underscores India's commitment to protecting its domestic industries from the adverse effects of dumping and ensuring fair competition in the market.
