Introducing Additional Document During Revision Stage Permitted If Material In Nature: NCDRC
The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, under AVM J. Rajendra, permitted the introduction of additional material documents during the revision stage if deemed crucial. In the case, an NRI doctor complained about unauthorized conversion of GBP 40,000 into INR by a bank, seeking reversion and compensation. \r
The bank argued lack of foreign exchange authority at its branch handling the transaction and cited compliance with RBI regulations. The Commission noted the absence of established deficiency in the bank's service at the Mysore branch, upholding the bank's contention. Relying on Jiten K. Ajmera & Anr. v. Tejas Cooperative Housing Society, it accepted the bank's Swift Message as evidence. \r
Consequently, the Commission set aside the State Commission's order, ruling in favor of the bank.
