ITR-2 Now Enabled for Online Filing with Prefilled Data on Income Tax Portal

ITR-2 is now enabled for online filing with pre-filled data on the Income Tax portal. This facilitates individuals and Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs) who have income from capital gains but no income from business or profession to file their returns more easily. The pre-filled data feature aims to reduce errors and simplify the compliance process for taxpayers. This follows the enablement of ITR-1 and ITR-4 earlier, and the government has already extended the deadline for filing ITRs for Assessment Year 2025-26 (Financial Year 2024-25) to September 15 for individuals not requiring an audit.
