The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached a land parcel and bank deposits worth ₹73 lakh allegedly linked to the CPI(M) in the Karuvannur Service Cooperative Bank scam investigation. The assets include a ₹10 lakh land parcel in Thrissur and ₹63 lakh in undisclosed bank accounts. \r
The CPI(M) denies wrongdoing and vows to fight the charges legally and politically, accusing the ED of targeting opposition parties for political reasons. The ED's probe, based on confessions from two accused, alleges that the land was purchased with kickbacks from the bank's loan beneficiaries. \r
The case, which involves over ₹100 crore in assets, dates back to 2010 and has seen four arrests so far.
