Kerala High Court Denies Anticipatory Bail To Actor Siddique In Rape Case
The Kerala High Court dismissed the anticipatory bail application filed by actor Siddique, who is accused of rape. The complainant alleged that Siddique called her to a hotel under the pretext of discussing a film and then raped and assaulted her. The complaint was filed after the release of the Justice K. Hema Committee Report, which investigated incidents of sexual harassment in the Malayalam film industry. Siddique argued that the allegations were motivated by his involvement with the Association of Malayalam Movie Actors (AMMA) and his support for the Justice Hema Committee Report. The Court, however, found sufficient grounds to deny the anticipatory bail, emphasizing the seriousness of the allegations and the need for a thorough investigation.
