LIC secures Guinness World Record for selling 5.8 lakh insurance policies in 24 hours

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has achieved a Guinness World Record by selling the highest number of life insurance policies in a single day. On January 20, 2025, LIC successfully sold an astounding 588,107 policies across India. This monumental feat was accomplished through the concerted efforts of 452,839 dedicated LIC agents. The initiative, dubbed "Mad Million Day," was spearheaded by LIC's CEO and MD, Siddhartha Mohanty, who motivated each agent to complete at least one policy on that specific day. This record-breaking achievement underscores LIC's extensive reach and the robust operational capacity of its agency network, solidifying its position as a dominant player in the Indian insurance sector.
