Sixty-two former Byju’s employees have issued a notice to file an insolvency case against the edtech firm at the NCLT in Bengaluru, seeking over Rs 2.30 crore in unpaid salaries. This move is part of a larger action involving over 1,500 ex-employees. Karnataka Labour Minister Santosh Lad urged Byju’s to settle dues, totaling around Rs 4.5 crore for 160-200 employees. Byju’s faces multiple challenges, including cash shortages, legal disputes, and delays in financial reporting. The NCLT has also warned Byju’s to pay salaries or face an audit. Several vendors and US-based lenders have also initiated insolvency proceedings against the company.
