In the first half of 2024, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) deal value declined by 9% to $38 billion, compared to $41.74 billion in the same period of 2023, marking the lowest level since 2017. The largest deal so far this year is Data Infrastructure Trust’s $2.5 billion acquisition of ATC Tower. \r

While the number of transactions increased by 17.3% to 1,460, M&A advisors predict that the deal flow will accelerate due to factors like scale and market share. Private equity firms, including Blackstone and KKR, are planning significant investments in India, with Blackstone aiming to deploy 20% of its $5 billion fund there.
