The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has announced the Companies (Significant Beneficial Owners) Amendment Rules, 2024, through Notification No. G.S.R. 404, dated July 15, 2024. These amendments, effective from August 1, 2024, aim to enhance the transparency and accountability of beneficial ownership in companies. The amendments include changes to the filing of Form No. BEN-2, which is used to report significant beneficial ownership information. These updates are made under the powers conferred by the Companies Act, 2013.
