Four lawyers have been chosen for the Indian Litigation Fellowship, an initiative supporting young women in law. Preethi G, Dnyaneshwari Patil, and Dhanya Visweswaran will serve as Litigation Fellows, while Siddhi Nagwekar will be the Lawyer-in-Residence. They will receive financial aid and mentorship. \r
Preethi aims to specialize in women's and prisoners' rights at Defenders Bureau. Patil focuses on civil litigation and debt recovery, while Visweswaran aims for a career in criminal law. Nagwekar, a final-year student, plans to work on access to justice and women's rights. The fellowship will commence this month, offering each fellow ₹3,60,000 annually. \r
Nagwekar's Lawyer-in-Residence role begins in September 2024, working at Pravah Law Offices, New Delhi.
