The newly formed NDA government is considering key proposals to enhance and review its flagship developmental programs, informed sources told CNBC-TV18.
Suggestions include expanding the Aspirational District Programme beyond 500 districts, revamping the Atal Innovation Mission to focus on entrepreneurship and job creation, and boosting credit availability for MSMEs.
Additionally, there are plans to set up an institute akin to NABARD to facilitate increased credit and exports. Prime Minister Modi previously announced the expansion of the Aspirational Districts Programme and may review its progress in 2024.
Other proposals involve providing indemnity to banks lending to MSMEs and conducting a comprehensive review of the PLI scheme, with emphasis on backward linkages to MSMEs.
The government's plan for the next 100 days will be presented to the PMO and
Union Council of Ministers next week.
