The Punjab and Haryana High Court directed the Bar Council to monitor lawyer Pritpaljit Singh Sangha, booked in 2019 for an alleged objectionable message against Hindu deities. Justice Kuldeep Tiwari quashed the FIR after the complainant, also a lawyer, compromised with Sangha, imposing a ₹50,000 cost to be paid to the Bar Council. \r
Failure to pay would vacate the quashing relief. The Court instructed the Bar Council to keep Sangha's conduct under surveillance, warning of disciplinary action for any future similar offense. Sangha's alleged offense involved posting derogatory content in a WhatsApp group. \r
After the CJM confirmed the compromise's authenticity, the High Court quashed the FIR.
