Mutual funds are gearing up for a surge in new fund offerings (NFOs) following the conclusion of elections, stable equity prices, and reduced volatility. Since June 4, when election results were declared, 14 NFOs have been sought from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi). \r
Additionally, nearly two dozen NFOs filed in the last two months are in the pipeline. In 2023, MFs launched 51 active equity schemes, amassing Rs 36,657 crore, and in the first five months of 2024, 19 schemes gathered Rs 23,515 crore. Fund houses capitalize on positive market sentiment through NFOs, often in high-risk thematic areas, prompting experts to advise thorough analysis before investing.
