Neeraj Arora, former Chief Business Officer of WhatsApp and pivotal in negotiating its merger with Facebook, has resigned as Non-Executive Independent Director from the board of One97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm.
Citing pre-occupation and personal commitments, his resignation from the board, effective June 17, 2024, was noted in a regulatory filing by Paytm. Arora had previously left the Paytm board in early 2018 but rejoined before the company's IPO. In his place, Paytm has appointed Rajeev Krishnamuralilal Agarwal, former whole-time director of SEBI, as an independent director for a term of five years, highlighting his extensive experience in financial markets and policy formulation.
