In Patna, two individuals accused in the NEET question paper leak were remanded to CBI custody by a special court. Baldev Kumar and Mukesh Kumar were transferred to CBI custody after the agency took over from Bihar Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOU). Thirteen accused from Patna and five from Jharkhand are in judicial custody following arrests by the EOU. The CBI is handling six separate cases related to NEET paper leaks across Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. The investigation began after the EOU handed over the FIR to the CBI, prompting raids in Patna, including at the residence of prime suspect Sikandar Yadavendu, a junior engineer. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is set to hear a plea alleging NTA's involvement in OMR sheet manipulation in NEET exams, alongside other related cases.
