The Supreme Court declined to stay counselling for NEET undergraduate admissions, asserting that if the NEET 2024 exam is cancelled later, counselling will automatically cease. \r
The bench of Justices Vikram Nath and SVN Bhatti rejected pleas by students citing exam disruptions in Meghalaya. The Court also addressed petitions, including one by the National Testing Agency to consolidate NEET cases from various High Courts. Proceedings related to NEET in lower courts were stayed, with the next hearing scheduled for July 8. \r
Earlier, the Court had ordered NTA to respond to allegations of paper leak but had opted not to halt counselling.
