The Supreme Court has asked the National Testing Agency (NTA) to respond to a plea requesting the return of OMR answer sheets to candidates who took the NEET 2024 exam. Justices Manoj Misra and SVN Bhatti issued a notice to NTA based on a petition by a private coaching institute and NEET candidates, and tagged the petition with pending NEET 2024 cases. The Court questioned if there is a timeline for returning OMR sheets and scheduled the next hearing for July 8. While the institute's locus standi under Article 32 was questioned, Senior Advocate R Basant argued that the grievances of students needed to be addressed. The NTA claimed that OMR sheets were being provided, prompting the Court to issue the notice.
