No Sufficient Evidence To Establish Dominance In Loan Against Property Market, CCI Dismisses Complaint Against Indiabulls Housing Finance
The Competition Commission of India dismissed a complaint against Indiabulls Housing Finance Limited (IHFL), stating there was insufficient evidence to prove IHFL's dominance in the loans against property market. Despite being the third-largest non-bank mortgage lender, the market remains competitive with various banks and NBFCs. The complaint alleged misleading advertisements and unfair loan practices by IHFL. However, the Commission found no dominance or anti-competitive behavior as per Sections 3 and 4 of the Competition Act, 2002.
