Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola, fulfilled his promise by swiftly transitioning all of the company's tech workloads from Microsoft's Azure ecosystem to its own cloud, Krutrim, within a week. Making the announcement on X, Aggarwal declared that Ola's spend on Azure is now zero, with all workloads successfully migrated to Krutrim. \r
Additionally, he pledged to assist others in migrating to Ola's India stack, revealing that over 2,500 developers have already joined the platform. Despite the substantial developer sign-ups, it remains unclear whether any companies have committed to or expressed interest in joining Krutrim. Aggarwal's decision to shift away from Azure stemmed from his dissatisfaction with Microsoft-owned LinkedIn's removal of his post on pronoun illness, leading him to advocate for the development of India's own tech and AI platforms to counter reliance on western Big Tech monopolies. \r
He emphasized that his actions are driven by a desire to preserve Indian cultural sovereignty against ideological imposition by global tech giants, positioning his move as a proactive step towards fostering a more independent tech ecosystem in India.
