PharmEasy Raises Fresh Debt to Clear Goldman Sachs Loan after 90% Valuation Cut
PharmEasy, India’s health-tech unicorn, raised INR 1,700 crore in a debt round led by 360 One and other investors to repay its high-interest loan from Goldman Sachs. The company’s valuation plummeted by approximately 90% from $5.6 billion in 2021 to around $710 million in recent rounds. The debt funding is central to reducing financial stress and refinancing existing obligations amid a flat revenue scenario and restructuring. Despite financial challenges, PharmEasy continues efforts to improve operational efficiency, maintain market leadership in online pharmacy and diagnostics, and cement prospects for long-term sustainability amid a competitive health-tech landscape.
