The Calcutta High Court denied BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari permission for a four-day sit-in outside Raj Bhavan to protest alleged post-election violence against his party workers. \r
Justice Amrita Sinha directed Adhikari, Leader of Opposition, to find an alternative protest site, stating that obstructing the road in front of Raj Bhavan was not permissible. She rebuffed Adhikari's argument that since TMC had protested there earlier, BJP should also be allowed, emphasizing equal treatment under the law. \r
The State, represented by Advocate General Kishore Datta, defended the police's administrative decision to deny permission. The court scheduled the next hearing for June 21 to reconsider the matter.
