The Rajasthan High Court ruled that a DNA report, without corroborating evidence, cannot by itself sustain a conviction for rape under POCSO. The Court stated that guilt must be proved beyond reasonable doubt and prosecution must provide consistent medical, forensic, and testimonial evidence. The judge noted that DNA evidence is supportive but not conclusive of the circumstances of the offence, and its presence alone does not establish non-consensual sexual acts or identity of the accused in isolation.
