Refund of IGST with applicable statutory interest: Kerala HC directs to pass appropriate orders [Read Order]

The Kerala High Court directed the issuance of appropriate orders regarding the refund of integrated goods and service tax (IGST) along with applicable statutory interest. The petition, seeking a Writ of Mandamus or similar direction, aimed at refunding IGST for the period from April 2022 to April 2023, with 6% p.a. interest. \r

Sreelal N. Warrier, Standing Counsel, urged the court to dispose of the petition, directing the 9th respondent to review and issue orders based on the petitioner's representations. Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh, in a single-bench ruling, instructed the 9th respondent to promptly consider and decide on the petitioner's representation, preferably within four weeks, acknowledging the respondent authorities' stance.
