In a recent circular, SEBI mandated that stock exchanges, clearing corporations, and depositories must ensure no real-time price data is shared with third parties, targeting platforms offering virtual trading services or fantasy games based on share prices. \r
Zerodha co-founder Nithin Kamath highlighted the impact, stating it ends trading competitions, demo trading, and CFDs in India. SEBI's guidelines require formal agreements for sharing price data and annual reviews by MIIs or intermediaries' boards. Kamath previously discussed the regulatory challenges for CFDs and social trading in India, noting the stringent requirements for RIAs and RAs. \r
