The amendment to Section 80G of the Income Tax Act will allow deductions for donations to the National Sports Development Fund, starting April 1, 2025. This amendment, proposed in the Union Budget 2024-25, updates the existing provision to include the National Sports Development Fund, which was set up by the Central Government on November 12, 1998. This change will be applicable from the assessment year 2025-26 onward.
