Sixth Sense Ventures-backed The Ayurveda Co. to shut down
The Ayurveda Co. (TAC), a D2C personal care brand backed by Sixth Sense Ventures, is reportedly shutting down its operations. The company's CEO, Shreedha Singh, announced that TAC would be clearing its inventory and concluding its business. The decision comes after the company experienced a significant increase in losses, tripling to Rs 68 crore in FY24, despite a 65% rise in revenue. The substantial surge in expenses, which nearly doubled, impacted the company's profitability. TAC had last raised $12.2 million in its Series A round, signaling a challenging environment for D2C brands facing escalating operational costs.
