Som Distilleries licence cancelled by Madhya Pradesh Excise Department on child labour concerns [Read More]
According to a notification from the excise department, a rescue operation in Madhya Pradesh's Raisen District led to the rescue of 39 underage boys and 20 underage girls from a liquor factory. The minors were reportedly employed without police verification by a unit of Som Distilleries, which is an associate of the listed entity. \r
As per the department's directive, operations at the factory are suspended for 20 days or until approval from the Labour department for resumption, whichever is later. Som Distilleries clarified in a June 19 filing that the concerns pertain to its associate company dealing in country liquor, with no actions taken against the listed entity itself.
