The Supreme Court upheld the Delhi High Court's decision to allow the demolition of a Shiva Temple situated on the Yamuna floodplains in the case of Pracheen Shiv Mandir Avam Akhada Samiti v Delhi Development Authority and Others. \r
Justices PV Sanjay Kumar and Augustine George Masih of the vacation bench dismissed the appeal, stating there was no fault in the High Court's order. Justice Kumar questioned the petitioner-samiti's standing to challenge the demolition, remarking on the suitability of having an akhada on floodplains traditionally associated with Lord Hanuman. \r
The dismissal of the Special Leave Petition does not prevent the petitioner from pursuing further remedies in the High Court. Advocates representing the samiti included Anurag Ojha, Jitender Chaudhary, Kamlesh Kumar Mishra, Rajbala, Saatvik Khurana, Renu, and Samishti Solomon.
