SC questions L&T's Mumbai project disqualification - The Supreme Court questioned the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority's (MMRDA) decision to disqualify Larsen & Toubro (L&T) from a ₹14,000 crore tender for infrastructure projects. L&T had alleged procedural lapses and unfair treatment, claiming its financial bid was not opened despite being lower. Following the Supreme Court's scrutiny and concerns raised about the qualifications of other selected contractors, MMRDA informed the court that it has decided to scrap the entire tender process for the Thane-Ghodbunder to Bhayandar tunnel and elevated road projects, providing L&T a fresh opportunity to bid.
