SC sets aside Kerala HC’s Voizz/Byju’s IP order, remanding for fresh consideration on jurisdictional grounds. The Supreme Court has set aside a Kerala High Court order that had restrained Claudia Springer, a US Chapter 11 Trustee, from selling intellectual property assets linked to Epic! Creations and Tangible Play (US-based ed-tech companies acquired by Byju's Group). The Supreme Court found that the High Court had passed its order without granting an opportunity of hearing to Springer. Accordingly, it remitted the matter back to the High Court for fresh consideration, emphasizing principles of natural justice and proper jurisdictional procedure in cross-border insolvency matters.
