Indian tech startups raised $4.1 billion in the first half of 2024, marking a 4% increase from the previous half-year period but a 13% decline compared to the same period in 2023, according to Tracxn. \r
Despite the decrease year-over-year, India retained its position as the fourth-highest funded country globally in the tech startup ecosystem. Seed-stage funding grew by 6.5% to $455 million, early-stage funding remained steady at $1.3 billion, and late-stage funding rose to $2.4 billion.\r
The period also saw notable funding rounds exceeding $100 million for companies like Flipkart, Apollo 24|7, and Meesho. With three new unicorns and 33 'Soonicorns,' and an increase in IPOs to 17, Bengaluru emerged as the top city in funding, with Accel, Blume Ventures, and Peak XV Partners leading the investment landscape.
