Tirupati Laddu Controversy: YSR Congress leader YS Subba Reddy has approached the Supreme Court concerning the controversy surrounding the iconic Tirupati Laddu. Reports suggest that animal fat was discovered in the ghee used to prepare the laddus, which are offered as prasadam at the revered Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh. Subba Reddy, a former chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), seeks an independent probe into these allegations, suggesting the appointment of a retired Supreme Court judge or a court-monitored investigation. His plea also calls for a temporary halt on publicizing this issue, given its potential to affect the religious sentiments of millions of devotees. The petition reflects concerns about preserving the integrity of the prasadam and the reputation of the temple amidst growing public outrage. Subramanian Swamy also filed a similar petition, calling for transparency and religious accountability in handling this sensitive matter.
