UP Police Exam Paper Leak | 'Nothing Incriminating Recovered From His Possession': Allahabad HC Grants Bail To An Accused
The Allahabad High Court granted bail to Monu Sharma, alias Monu Pandit, who was arrested for allegedly attempting to manipulate a police constable examination and leaking question papers. Justice Sameer Jain's bench granted him bail, noting the lack of incriminating evidence recovered from him and the release of his co-accused on bail earlier. Despite considering Sharma's criminal history, which includes four other cases, the court found that all alleged offenses are triable by a Magistrate of the First Class. Sharma has been in jail since April 5, 2024. \r
He was booked under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, and 34 IPC for allegedly leaking the question paper of the Uttar Pradesh Constable Recruitment and Promotion examination. The examination was scheduled for February 17 and 18, 2024, but was cancelled due to allegations of paper leaks and irregularities.
