Former Chief Minister and BJP leader B.S. Yediyurappa appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday in connection with a POCSO case filed against him. Speaking to reporters before the probe, Yediyurappa stated his intention to cooperate with the investigation and return promptly. \r
The CID team, led by Superintendent of Police Sara Fathima, will question him regarding the allegations. Yediyurappa recently received temporary relief from potential arrest when the Karnataka High Court instructed the police not to proceed against him. The court, under Justice Krishna S. Dixit's bench, mandated Yediyurappa's appearance on Monday, as affirmed in his police response. \r
The case, filed in March under the POCSO Act, alleges harassment of a woman's daughter at Yediyurappa's residence. This development has sparked contentious exchanges between the BJP and Congress, with Union Minister Pralhad Joshi accusing the Karnataka Congress of targeting Yediyurappa unjustly following their electoral defeat.
