The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Gurugram Zonal Office, has provisionally attached properties valued at Rs. 58.93 Crore under the Prevention of Money-Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, belonging to M/s. IREO Group of Companies and others. These properties include land parcels and bank accounts. The ED's investigation was initiated based on multiple FIRs registered across Gurugram, Panchkula, Ludhiana, and Delhi against real estate company M/s. IREO Pvt. Ltd., associated entities, its directors, key managerial persons, and others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860. \r
The investigation revealed that the company deceived buyers by promising to deliver flats, plots, commercial spaces, etc., without fulfilling their commitments. The directors, in collusion with certain individuals, misappropriated funds collected from buyers, diverting them outside of India through methods such as share buy-backs, redemptions, and loans to associated entities. The total Proceeds of Crime identified in the case amount to Rs. 1780 Crore. \r
Key managerial persons involved in the money laundering process, including Lalit Goyal (IREO Group) and Roop Bansal (M3M Group), were previously arrested. Prosecution complaints have been filed, and properties worth Rs. 1317.3 Crore have been provisionally attached. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
