Income Tax Services Services

Income tax services in India — ITR filing, TDS returns, capital gains, NRI tax, notice replies, assessments and appeals by verified CAs and tax advocates.

Income Tax Services cover everything from filing an individual's return to defending a company in scrutiny and appeal. WCP professionals reconcile your income with Form 26AS and AIS, choose the right return form, claim every deduction and exemption the law allows, and respond to the Income Tax Department when it asks questions.

The law itself changed in 2026: income earned up to 31 March 2026 is governed by the Income-tax Act, 1961, while income from 1 April 2026 falls under the Income-tax Act, 2025, which replaces the 'previous year / assessment year' pair with a single 'tax year' and renumbers sections and forms. Professionals on WCP work under both, depending on the year in question.

What is covered:

  • Income tax returns for individuals, firms and companies
  • Capital gains computation and NRI tax filing
  • TDS / TCS returns and certificates
  • Notices, demands, rectification and grievances
  • Scrutiny assessments and appeals before CIT(A) and ITAT

Frequently asked questions

Which law applies to my income tax return in 2026?
Returns for FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27) are filed under the Income-tax Act, 1961. Income earned from 1 April 2026 is governed by the Income-tax Act, 2025, which uses a single 'tax year'.
What is the late fee for filing an ITR after the due date?
Under Section 234F, ₹5,000, reduced to ₹1,000 where total income does not exceed ₹5 lakh, plus interest at 1% a month under Section 234A on unpaid tax.
Until when can a belated return be filed?
Up to 31 December following the end of the assessment year, or before assessment is completed, whichever is earlier — with the late fee.
Is there a government fee for filing an income tax return?
No. Filing on the e-filing portal is free; only professional fees and any tax, interest or late fee due are payable.
How do I respond to an income tax notice?
Read the section under which it was issued, check it against your return and AIS, and reply on the e-proceedings portal within the time allowed — ideally with a professional's help.
Who can represent me before the Income Tax Department?
Chartered Accountants and advocates can represent taxpayers in assessments and appeals, including before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal.
