Counter Offers, Payment & Assignment

Negotiating a bid, choosing a professional and paying for the enquiry.

Counter Offers, Payment & Assignment questions

  • What is a counter offer?

A counter offer is your proposed price and time for a service in a bid. The professional can reject it and keep their original bid, or accept it by re-quoting a fee lower than their original bid. Government fees are fixed and cannot be negotiated.

  • How many counter offers can I make?

Up to three rounds of counter offers on a bid. Each counter offer expires after 24 hours by default; if the professional does not respond, their original bid stands.

  • How do I choose a professional and pay?

Accept the bid you prefer. The professional is assigned to every service in your enquiry. Review the total and pay in one go.

  • How is my payment split between my wallets and the payment gateway?

Your WCP Service Wallet balance is used first, then your WCP Cashback Wallet (within its limit), and any remaining amount is paid through the Cashfree payment gateway. You can also choose to pay the full amount through the gateway.

  • Which payment methods are accepted?

Payments go through the Cashfree payment gateway, which supports the usual Indian payment methods such as UPI, debit and credit cards and net banking.

  • Is there a platform fee for Service Recipients?

Yes. The platform fee is shown in your payment summary before you pay. Details are in the Professional Service Fee & Refund Policy.

  • Will I get an invoice?

Yes. After a successful payment, an invoice is issued to you for the Service Enquiry, and the payment appears with its status in your WCP Service Wallet transactions.

  • Can I be asked to pay more after the work has started?

Yes, if more work is needed. The Relationship Manager team can raise an additional (add-on) payment request on an ongoing enquiry. You receive it with a payment link and it is shown on your enquiry and in the Progress Tracker.
